The end of June also brought the much anticipated Dyer Family Reunion. Taylor had been talking about it for weeks and my kids love going and being surrounded by dozens of cousins and staying up way too late and eating way too much! This year we kept it simply by having it up at Curtis' brother's house in Highland. They have an amazing pool and the kids were happy to spend the time swimming, sliding, and jumping off the diving board.
Taylor could not get enough of this slide. And in true girl fashion, she screamed very loudly every time she went down! I had to go with Boston the first time, pushed him down the second and then he wanted nothing more to do with it. He spent his time terrorizing everyone in and out of the pool with various water guns.
This raft was a hot ticket among the girl cousins and Aunt Brindy was nice enough to drive them around the pool and make sure no one abandoned ship!
The full day of swimming was topped off with an outdoor movie, Tangled, homemade ice cream and root beer as well as popcorn and candy!
Saturday we had the first ever Dyer Amazing Race. It was a ton of fun and we were split up into 5 teams and drove around Utah county doing challenges that included, skee ball at an arcade, a sudoku puzzle, racing around the cemetary for a certain headstone, chugging a gallon of milk in under 15 minutes and pulling a wagon around a track. So much fun, and too bad my team didn't win, but we didn't lose either:)
Saturday night we got the chance to go to Curtis' nieces and nephew's CD release concert. They are 18, 15, and 14 and just recorded their first CD in nashville this past spring. They are amazing, and we got to hear a few songs from the country band Due West as well! Such a fun night of music. You can check out their band Dyer Highway at their website here.
It was a great weekend and we always enjoy getting to see everyone together. The kids were definitely tuckered out by the end of it but I'm so happy they have the chance to make these memories and have close relationships with their cousins.
