Stayin' Cool

When the temperatures start to rise here in the summer, we make sure to find lots of fun ways to stay cool.  Every year we have been here, we have taken the kids to play in the Virgin River.  They love it and we love scoping out new spots each year.  This year we found a great spot full of hot sand, more mud than you can think of, and of course, cool water.  I love sitting back and watching my kids enjoy this simple pleasure.
You cannot keep a boy out of the mud no matter how much you try, but it was sure fun watching them throw mud pies at each other and then watching Boston dive onto his sister!
Maddox was in absolute heaven. He loved that the water was shallow enough to crawl in and cruised around forever, that is; until he got thirsty and just stuck his face in the water for a drink! Curtis was mortified and disgusted and I couldn't help but laugh each time he bent down for more after Curtis kept pulling him away:)
It was evenings like these that really make me appreciate the simple things, because often times they are what bring the most joy to life! We will definitely be heading back several more times this summer and love this amazing place in which we live.
