Maddox turns 2

Maddox turned 2 on the 21st of July! I can hardly believe he is already that old, but since he's still not talking, he doesn't seem too grown up just yet! We ended up celebrating his birthday a day late because the night before his actual bday, Curtis crashed his scooter while taking the boys for a ride around the neighborhood.  We spent the evening in the ER and the next day everyone was a little sore and tired so we decided to spend it recouping and resting.  It was a horrific experience and I'm so grateful that the injuries weren't worse. Madd got 4 stitches in his head, which I had to help hold him down for...not fun. Boston only had some bruising and scrapes on one leg and Curtis separated his shoulder and was his a lot of pain for a few days! Thankfully, everyone is doing great now and we have learned a thing of 2 in the process;)
On Sunday, he woke up to find one of his presents...a balance bike! He was really excited and rode it around the house all day! He loves trying to ride the big kids' bike, so he was happy to see one more his size, although he can't touch yet sitting on the seat. We also got him a fun little tractor that makes noise and moves...his favorite!
Me and my guy showing off his battle wounds! He bounced back like a champ and it is almost completely healed!
Singing happy birthday and his cupcake treats!
He thought it was funny when we were all singing to him...this is one of his famous smiley faces for sure!
Digging in...he devoured the entire thing and went back for seconds. Im glad he's an easy one to please...at least for now!
We are so grateful to have this guy in our family! There is definitely a sweet spot in my heart for him. He is so smart and determined when he wants something. He loves to be outside even when its 100 degrees.  We took him to a speech evaluation and the therapist recommended once a week visits for 4 months.  I'm crossing my fingers that our insurance will pay since we can claim it was the result of chronic ear infections and having tubes put in. Either way, we are determined to get him whatever help he needs and love him to pieces.
