May seems like a lifetime ago but we made sure to kick off our summer with a bang! At the beginning of the month, Ironman was help in St. George and at the last minute we signed the kids up for the Kids Run. At first, Taylor was going to do the 1 mile run and Boston the shorter 200meter but we got our start lines confused and both kids ended up doing the entire mile run! They did awesome and as I watched them both round the corner to the finish line, I literally had tears welling up in my eyes! It was such a proud moment for me as a mom and I loved seeing how proud they were of themselves after they had gotten their medals.
Taylor was a big support for Boston who was definitely apprehensive about running, but he did great!
Curtis was out of town again for work so we did our best to kill time while he was away. We picked up some pizza and headed to the park to spend an enjoyable evening outside.
We hit up the Town Square splash pad/river one night after family home evening and enjoyed the cool water.
Boston graduated from his last year of preschool! I cannot believe he will be starting kindergarten in less than a month! He loved Miss Melissa and gained a lot of confidence his last year with her!
Taylor also had her first big dance recital in May. I could not believe how grown up she looked all ready for the recital. She did so great in her dance and her teacher told me to make sure to keep her in dance because of how awesome she was doing. She is normally quite shy but when she was up on that stage, she owned that dance and knew every move without hesitation.
After her recital, the boys headed out for the father and sons camp out and the girls went out to dinner. She picked Panda Express and it was so great to spend some one on one time with her. She is growing up way too fast!
We also started off the summer doing one of our favorite pass times....swimming!
We love hitting up the hotel pool and inviting friends to tag along for a fun morning/afternoon with the pool almost completely to ourselves.
We spent lots of time in the backyard in the evenings enjoying the shade and cooler temperatures that it brings. Oh how I miss those wonderful evenings! The heat came on way too fast this year!
