Yesterday was Maddox's birthday and I can hardly believe he is 3 years old already! He is seriously so full of personality and we just love him to pieces! He is still way behind on his speech and will begin the Special Education Preschool through the school district in September. He will go 4 days a week for 2 hours each day during which he will also get speech help! We are really excited for this opportunity for him. He loves any type of powered ride on toys...even the ones still in the box at the store:)
His new favorite obsession is tractors. Luckily we have a lot of homes being built around us and we are never in short supply of them around here. He could honestly sit for hours just watching them dig.
Since we have been busy preparing for baby and feeling yucky just due to pregnancy, we made last minute preparations for his birthday. We took him to the store to pick out his presents and all he wanted was this tractor and a bag of M&M's. He's definitely easy going and knows what he wants!
Since his birthday fell on a Sunday, we had a low key day full of tractor playing and dump trucks and restful naps! He loved his cake covered in m&m candies and made us relight the candles 4 times so he could keep blowing them out!
This boy definitely has a special place in my heart. Even though he doesn't speak much, his actions and personality speak volumes to me. There is something so special to me about him and I'm often overwhelmed with gratitude that I was chosen to be his mom. There are times when his delay causes me a lot of stress and anxiety, but all I have to do is watch him and realize what a happy, well adjusted boy he truly is. I'm excited to see how he reacts to being a big brother to his new sister or brother. I'm sad to see him lose the title of baby of the family but so excited for the things he will achieve and learn in the upcoming year!
