It is always so great to get away from reality for awhile and I love the chance to be home with my parents..(even though technically I've never lived there). Home is where they are and my kids love going to Grandma's house for amazingly simple reasons...playing on the piano, wooden train sets, backyard playground, feeding the ducks, etc.
Playing outside
Maddox was so proud that he conquered this slide. It's a doozy and literally launches you as fast as can be to the bottom! His face describes his enthusiasm. And don't ask me why he's in a diaper more than clothes in most pictures...
Grandpa's boots...he tried walking and of course didn't make it far. My mom has a pictured of one of my brother's just like this and it's safe to say he resembles my side of the family!
One afternoon while Grandma stayed home with a sleeping Maddox, I took the older 2 to see the movie Hotel Transylvania. They were pretty excited and had been begging to go see it since it had come out.
We met up with Grandpa during his lunch break at McDonald's and had to get a picture with this guy...who my kid's didn't even know! Haha.
Maddox stayed up past his bedtime a few times and enjoyed playing with the trains. He was content in his own little world pushing those things around and making all the sound effects necessary of train play.
Again, the diaper things:)
We had a great few days away. I even got in some really good runs...running at close to sea level is a breeze and really makes running enjoyable! Maddox started getting sick just a couple days into our trip and was ready to see his dad! Thankfully, we only had to go half way and then we picked up Curtis and continued our journey home. Up to that point, Maddox was pretty whiny and miserable from his fever and sores forming, but the minute Curtis was with us, his mood did a complete 180! That boy will forever be a daddy's boy through and through.
It was a much needed, wonderfully relaxing trip and we can't wait for the chance to do it again!
