Swim Lessons

For the past 2 weeks, Taylor and Boston have been doing swim lessons at the college.  It was a first time for both of them, and with all the swimming we do at the hotel, I felt it was probably good if they could learn a thing or two. I knew Taylor would have no problem and would love every second, but I was a little unsure of how Boston would do when a stranger was trying to get him to swim by holding him in the water.  I made sure to get the early slot, 9 a.m., so that Maddox and I wouldn't be forced to endure the grueling heat, but even that early we still got hot.  The first day I observed Boston from a distance just so he wouldn't be inclined to get out and come to me.  He was shy at first and wouldn't do what the teachers wanted but slowly he warmed up to the idea.  The first week after each lesson, he would tell me that was enough and that he didn't need to go anymore, but I think his sister's enthusiasm wore off on him.
Taylor loved being able to jump of the dive boards and swim back to the edge all by herself. She also loved the new friend she made and I helped her realize that starting kindergarten would be that much more fun because of the new friends she could make, even if she didn't know anyone starting out.
Boston's favorite part was also the jumping, although he never got up the courage to jump off the dive board, only the edge.  I'm just happy he got comfortable enough to stick it out and actually enjoy himself. Both of them past their levels and are excited about doing them again next year.
Maddox and I spent the time enjoying the shade as much as possible.  He often had his breakfast while we watched and a few times I had to pull him out of a dead sleep to go. He was only content to spend time in the stroller while he was eating, then he preferred crawling as fast as he could toward the water hoping I'd let him get in! He was quite the trooper!
