Summer's First Swim

After our failed attempt at a lazy day by the pool in Vegas last week, Taylor has been constantly asking to go swimming at the hotel. The weather has been so unusual with its warm few days then drastic drop in temperature accompanied by wind. Luckily, Saturday allowed for a small break in the bad weather and the perfect chance to go. Curtis had to go into work that morning and help out inspecting rooms due to the sold out hotel thanks to the Ironman. I'm not a fan of him working Saturdays since normally its his one day with us, but sometimes duty calls! He suggested I bring the kids down swimming in the morning and that way we'd still see him from time to time. Of course, the kids jumped at the chance and the sun was out which made it even harder to pass up!
I knew Taylor would be an instant fish just like she was last year, but I was curious to see how Boston would do since last year I had a hard time keeping his floaties on him! They both jumped right in without hesitation and loved every minute. Taylor was even managing a few front flips into the water from the steps and was pretty proud of herself! I think it's time I get that girl into some swimming lessons.Boston decided that he liked jumping in better when he had his floaties and a float tube on. He wasn't quite sure about jumping in and going all the way under, but I'm sure he'll be pro by the end of the summer. He decided at one point to give his arms a rest and take off his floaties. I told him he couldn't get back in the pool until he had them on and he said okay. Taylor was continuing to jump in and all of a sudden Boston says, "watch this mom!" I told him no, but he ran and jumped right in without his floaties and immediately was gasping! Taylor just screamed that he was drowning and I jumped in to pull him up. I think that cured him, because he told me that it was scary and was eager to get his floaties back on! That kid can be such trouble sometimes! We had to whole pool to ourselves for the almost 2 hours we were there and we loved every minute of it! Sometimes, it really does pay to have your hubby run a hotel! I'm sure we'll be spending lots of time there this summer as the weather gets hotter out, and I don't think I'll have a problem convincing my kids to go!
