Somehow this month seem to get away from me and now I have so much to catch up on in the blogging world. After both kids birthdays came the next most coveted yearly event...the Deer Hunt! Curtis was like a kid waiting for Christmas in anticipation of the big Hunt! We have lived out of state the last couple years and he hasn't been able to go for about 3 years. This year I decided to tag along and bring the kids as well. I knew Taylor would have a blast playing with cousins and having lots of room to roam! Boston, well, he must be a little more like me because as soon as we got there he asked to go home! He spent lots of time in the trailer watching movies, but loved playing when the weather was warm and getting 4-wheeler rides from whomever was offering! The only picture I even took the entire trip was Taylor riding the 4 wheeler with her cousin Macrae....
Sadly, Curtis didn't bring anything home, but he had a great time nonetheless! I think camping would be more enjoyable without my children so that I can sit and read all day long...I'm cookin up a plan for next year:) Our ward had it's Fall party out at Staheli Farms, which is a super fun place to take the kids this time of year. They have a petting zoo, tractor train, corn slide, corn maze and a pumpkin patch. We spent most of our time in the maze trying to get back out. The kids were excited at first, but their steam quickly wore out after trying several times to cheat our way out of the maze! It was a great time and we had amazing weather...as usual!
This last weekend, all of my family was able to get together for a short family reunion. We are so spread out that it's hard getting together all at the same time. My parents are in California, one brother in Arizona, two brothers in Texas, and my sister lives overseas since her hubby is in the Air Force. We haven't all been together since our wedding over 5 years ago!! I somehow managed to take ZERO pictures, but we did have some family pictures taken that I will post when I get them. We had a ton of fun, eating, playing, laughing, hiking Zion and just being together. We are hoping to make it a goal to get together every year from here on out and hoping we can stick to it! And last, but not least...Halloween!! I'm not a huge fan of this holiday, but try to make it fun for my kids. Taylor kicked off the festivites with a huge preschool party. I was supposed to be a mommy-helper, but Boston was up all night with a fever that was still lingering the morning of. Taylor came home with so much candy that I just used it as hand-out candy on Halloween!! She's only 4, how much does she need?! Saturday started with Boston throwing up a couple times, and Taylor couching so much I had to give her a breathing treatment! I hadn't even gotten a costume for Boston at this point and was starting to think it was a good thing, but then he recovered quickly and was back to his usual crazy self. My mom and I picked up a last minute Dinosaur costume at Target, which he ended up loving! He's really picky about certain things and hates wearing coats, hats, hoods or anything random which made costume shopping a little challenging! Curtis and my dad spent the day doing some projects around the house and planting some new plants in our yard. I made sure to load Taylor up with cough medicine before we headed out trick-or-treating, and managed to get a few cute pics of them before we left.......Taylor was, of course, Cinderella and Boston was what appeared to be a Dino-Rider!!! He just loved going up to people are roaring like a Dinosaur!
It has been a crazy busy month and I'm hoping the next couple weeks slow down a bit and that we can relax without too much craziness or sickness!
