We have been trying to keep busy this month and we have been slightly successful...probably more so if I would get out of bed before 9 in the morning. What can I say, I have never been much of a morning person, just ask my dad about our daily drives to early morning seminary!
First up was our power company's annual meeting, complete with a free catered dinner, bounce houses and faced painting for the kids and a full ice cream bar. The kids were excited for obvious reasons and I was happy to not have to worry about cooking dinner...it can be right up there with my feelings for laundry some days. Taylor opted for painted fairy swirls, while Boston went disguised as Batman, of course.
Then it was on to Father's Day! Curtis was lucky to have the day off and was able to go to all his church meetings uninterrupted thanks to Maddox's
Then came June 23, the most anticipated date of the month for 2 certain children in this house. The movie Brave came out in theatres and you can bet Taylor made sure to remind her parentals constantly of the fact. So, being the awesome dad he is, Curtis took the 2 oldest to the matinee the following day....and you can bet they rode in style:)
I can only imagine the cringe of a certain Grandma that was probably appalled by this method of transportation and it's accompaning cargo! Safety first and all smiles proves Curtis to be the coolest dad around.
We finished the month with a super fun soccer camp put on by one of the Young Men in our ward that just graduated. 3 days of fun games and scrimages along with a couple close friends made for some early morning summer fun! Thankfully, it started at 8 am, which is rather early for this household, but good because by 9 am it was already rather toasty outside. After camp, the kids would play at the splash pad/park until everyone was tired and then it was home for lunch and some much needed rest time.
One short month of summer down and only about another month and a half to go before school and routines start up again! Next month should prove to be just as exciting with holiday parties, family reunions, visits from Grandma and hopefully a fun vacation trip for just our small family, not to mention a certain little boy's 2nd birthday! Goodbye June! Hello July:)
