Kindergarten Graduation

Today was Taylor's kindergarten graduation, which seems so hard for me to believe that an entire school year has gone by so quickly. They did a short program with a procession, song and slide show with 2 other classes and then dismissed us to individual classrooms for a party and diplomas.
I'll be honest, the minute the music started playing and I saw her in her cap and gown, I teared up!  It seemed like just yesterday I was crying as I dropped her off at her first day of school, and now she's completed her very first of many years of school! Isn't she cute!?
I love this picture of us! Taylor has become such a wonderful, smart, and hard working student.  She loves school! She loves learning and gets so excited about each and every things she learns.  I'm so proud of her love of learning and of the well behaved student that she was!
Taylor has become more aware of Curtis' crazy schedule and long hours at work.  She made me promise this morning that he would be able to be there for her special day and of course, he didn't miss it!  She lit up the minute she walked into that gym and saw him standing there.
Her first school teacher ever...Miss Faught, er.. Mrs. Prisbrey(she got married about a month ago!) I remember how nervous I was about Taylor having a first year teacher fresh out of school, but she has been the best thing for Taylor.  She wrote a special note for Taylor that came home with all her graduation things that expressed how much joy Taylor brought to her and the classroom.  She told Taylor that people are aware of her and always watching and that she should always strive to make right choices in life.  It touched this mommy's heart and will be something both Taylor and I will treasure always.
I couldn't believe how fancy her diploma was...it looked nicer than my high school and college ones put together!
Taylor made some great friends this year. She was excited at the beginning of the year to know that Rylie, whom she knew from preschool, was in her class.
Taylor and Brooklin...these two are peas in a pod. Brooklin's twin sister and cousin were both in her class, but these two got along perfect and enjoyed a few after school play dates throughout the year. She's already looking forward to getting together during the summer and really hopes Brooklin will be in her class next year!
Curtis treated her to a special scooter ride home afterwards and as you can tell, she was more than excited!
I'm so proud of this little girl. I can be hard on her at times, expecting a lot from her since she's the oldest, but she has been such an example to her little brothers as well as her parents!  I'm so impressed with her school and know now more than ever that it is the right place for her.  I can only hope that her enthusiasm for school school continues for the next 12+ years!

I love that they had caps and gowns. Nora was so sad that she didn't get a graduation like Taylor. Congrats Taylor!
