I wish I could say this post was about me, but it's not! Last weekend, Curtis ran in his first ever half marathon up in Snow Canyon. He's been planning on doing it for months, but work got crazy and he wasn't training as much as he used to so I kind of thought he would back out. He didn't and he did amazing. The weather was not what he was hoping for, it was FREEZING! The wind was blowing and the cold temperatures made it less than desirable but the sun came out mid race and helped a little. We had arranged a time that we thought he could finish and I cut off 20 min of that knowing he'd run faster. I dropped Boston off at a birthday party and we headed up to watch him finish, only, by the time we got up there and situated, he called and said he was already finished!! I was so disappointed that I may or may not have started crying! We met up to see his time all the while he was convincing me it was okay I missed him....but it wasn't. He ended up finishing in 1:45:53, an amazing time for someone who'd never run over 10 miles and wasn't training consistently! We are so proud of him and this accomplishment! He started his goal of a healthier lifestyle not long after me and has lost 40 lbs and can now add half marathon to his accomplishments!
Maddox was more than happy to be braving the cold temperatures knowing it was all for his dad....he is definitely a daddy's boy and I think its safe to say he was pretty proud of him too!
