Halloween

We had a great Halloween this year full of fun parties and lots of candy! Taylor had her preschool party and came home with quite the loot and then that night was our Ward's Trunk or Treat. I found Boston's costume online at Crazy 8 and while I was in California, I stopped by their store and found it on sale for 7 bucks! Boston wore it for 3 days straight...he made a great ninja if I do say so myself! Taylor told me months ago that she wanted to be a bride but I told it might be hard to find so she decided a cheerleader was the next best thing. I found one while at my mom's but we had to return it since it was too big. When we went to look for another one, you'll never guess what costume Taylor spotted....a beloved bride! She freaked out and insisted it was what she wanted to be! She was a beautiful bride and even added a touch of style by going with her plaid boots!I tried getting one of the kids before the Trunk or Treat, but apparently the sun was too bright and Maddox is getting a little big for Taylor to hold this way!
We started Halloween Saturday out bright and early with family pictures thanks to Kourtney at 318 Photography , who just happens to be our neighbor! They were a success...more on those in a later post. The kids were decked out in their costumes hours before it was time to go in anticipation of Trick or Treating! Here they are all ready with their buckets....
We headed to one specific house in our neighborhood first since rumor had it they were handing out full size candy bars! Curtis even got in and took Maddox up in the stroller so he could cash in! Then, after we circled the neighborhood we went back for seconds, only this time the adults got creative and borrowed a piece of their child's costume in order to get a pick of the treats!Curtis paid tribute to Michael Jackson using Taylor's white bridal glove. Andrea borrowed Taylor's veil, I squeeeeezed into Boston's Ninja vest, and Jeremy became a fireman for a minute. Funny thing was, Taylor was the one who snapped all our pictures...she thought it was pretty funny. Here's one of the kids rushing my door! I hurried home and ran inside so they could ring our doorbell and get some candy....let's just say our neighborhood is lacking in the house department!
After hitting our neighborhood...a few times, we headed to a bigger one where we heard they had a Santa who handed out ice cream cones. It's true, his house was all decked out and there was a line to get ice cream! The kids ran wild and had a great time and we were all exhausted by the end of the night. It was a huge success and now all that's left to show for it is an almost full bucket of candy that's been picked over and all that's left is the stuff no one wants!

I just died laughing over those pictures of us in those costumes. That was funny!! Maybe it's a good thing our neighborhood lacks houses because then we CAN go around twice for the good stuff!!! Fun night! I can't wait to see your pictures!!

Cute costumes! I love that Taylor was a bride! I think she will be the best real one someday :) I can'e believe how big Maddox is, it's so crazy how fast they grow.
