A Day to Celebrate

Valentine's Day has never been a big event around our house, but this year was extra special with some visitors to join us. I got Taylor a cute piggy bank along with a card that she loved...that is until it fell off the counter and shattered into a million pieces!! She was quite upset, but luckily Grandma Jane put some extra quarters in there she can use to help buy another one! Boston lucked out with another Mcqueen car because you can never have too many of those! After working a short shift, I came home to find these beauties on my table...
I'm easy to please on holidays such as these. You can never go wrong with flowers, I love them! And after almost 6 years, I think Curtis has put his "they're such a waste" theory behind him knowing how much I love the thought:) What a guy!
We had a nice short visit with my parents and love that we get to seem them on trips as they are "passing through"! Later in the afternoon, Curtis' sisters and mom, who were here for a girls weekend, stopped by to cook some dinner and celebrate Curtis' birthday which is on Friday! These ladies go all out for dinner cooking steak, pork chops, crab legs, winter squash and rolls...it was quite the spread!! Curtis' favorite part was by far what they brought for dessert...A Baskin Robbins Ice Cream Cake...oh so yummy!! Boston was so excited by the fire and wanted Curtis to blow them out again and again! Needless to say, that cake didn't last too long with all us around...it was every man for themselves:)
Trying to get Curtis to smile normal for a picture is like trying to pull teeth...Sheesh! It was a great evening and we are so glad we got to enjoy the company of family!
The kids and I are so happy to have Curtis home after a long week of being apart. Boston cried when Curtis left for work on Monday thinking he was leaving on another trip...Curtis made sure to tell him he would be home to eat dinner with him!
