We had a wonderful, low key Christmas at home this year! We were lucky enough to have my parents along with my brother and his family come and spend it with us. On Christmas Eve, we made and decorated cookies for santa, opened new jammies and had a yummy dinner! The past few years we have made homemade pizza, but I decided to go back to my tradition growing up and my mom made potato soup with breadsticks and we let the kids still make their own pizza.

Jake didn't seem too impressed with the end result and it took him awhile to warm up to it! We finished out evening by reading Glenn Beck's book The Christmas Sweater which I found in a children's picture book form. The kids did pretty well going to bed for the most part, although it took Taylor forever to settle down and fall asleep! Christmas morning brought us being woke up by Taylor who was soo excited she was shaking! Santa had brought her what she has been asking for, a Leapster! When Taylor told Boston Santa had come he was so excited that he ran out and said, "Where is he?"! I guess he thought Santa decided to stick around! Boston was excited to see that he got a Cars Geotrax Train from Santa.

The kids had a great time tearing through all their gifts and were excited about all their gifts! Taylor got stocked up on art supplies like paints, markers and crayons, while Boston's theme seemed to be cars with a remote control car, although he did get a new sword! We are still trying to decide if that was a good idea! A funny story...when we asked Boston what Santa was going to bring him, he would always say a sucker. I have no idea where he got that idea but on Christmas eve we asked him again and his reply was still the same. Problem was, Santa hadn't planned for that and had to run to a nearby gas station to stock up so he wasn't disappointed!

We decided last minute that Santa would be bringing our family a big present! Curtis and my dad spent all night setting it up and then we taped a note to the back door from Santa. We decided to wait until the kids found the note themselves to have them see it! The note said Santa had one more gift that wouldn't fit under the tree so he put it in the backyard....Taylor could hardly stand it! I wish I'd had video camera to record her face when she saw it...totally priceless! Here they are on our brand new.....

Trampoline!!! Along with the Leapster, this was the only other thing Taylor really wanted for Christmas and she couldn't believe Santa had actually brought one. The kids love it and are constantly asking to go out and jump, but the weather has been cold so we haven't gotten out as often as we'd like! We had a great holiday and were so happy we were able to spend it with family! Curtis and I decided not to exchange gifts this year and took the money we got and put it in the bank. I already knew of one gift I was getting, but it didn't arrive in time for Christmas. We called to inquire about it and they told us that it would be delivered sometime around July 30.....

We can hardly wait!!!
