Time Out For Women

(Dont my sister and I look just like twins;)!)
This weekend I had to the chance to go to Time Out For Women with my mom and sister. When my sister found out she was coming to the states for a month, she found out that TOFW was going to be in St. George and we all got tickets. My mom and sister have been a few times but this was my first experience with the conference. It was a sold out crowd with what they said was about 3,000 women. The theme this year was Sweet Assurance: the certainty that comes when you know life's truths. It was phenomenal! They had quite the list of presenters and 2 musical presenters, Kenneth Cope and Hilary Weeks. It was an uplifting weekend that really left me with my bucket filled...to the point of overflowing. They encouraged us to seek out and express the things we know for a certainty and it was a huge testimony builder as well as a much needed break from mommyhood. The music was especially profound to me...I love that through music sometimes the Spirit is felt the strongest. Often times while listening to the message of certain songs, I thought, "how can they get through singing those words without crying!" I laughed...those women were hilarious, I cried...overwhelming joy and knowledge about life's truths will do that to you, and I walked away a better person. Before the last session on Saturday began, I saw my good friend Angela across the room! She informed me her and our other good friend Laura were down for the weekend with some family. These girls are amazing friends and one of the reasons we loved living in Cedar City soo much. It had been over 2 years since I had seen either one and my heart about jumped out of my chest!! They came over and visited that evening and it was soo good to catch up and laugh with them. They both have kids now I've never met and moved on to buy homes, and get jobs...and yet, it felt like I'd just seen them days ago. Thats how you know when you've found amazing friends...no matter how much time goes by without seeing each other, you can pick up right where you left off.
It was an amazing end to a wonderful, uplifting day! Thanks to my mom and sister for sharing it with me and Angela and Laura for being amazing friends!!! I highly recommend attending one of these conferences if you haven't yet...I will be making it a yearly event! Blessed...that's how I feel, and that is a wonderful feeling to have:)
