Hotel Life Continued.
I am surprised. I honestly did not think my children would adjust as well as they have to living here at the hotel. We are just under a week from the time we moved in so maybe its just that its still new and exciting for them, or maybe they knew I needed them on their best behavior in order to survive this. We get out as much as possible. We have been swimming a lot this week, both at the the hotel and with friends and family. We've walked to Wal-mart for quick grocery items, and have been to the park a couple times. The days seem to pass by faster if we are only here to sleep and grab a bite to eat. I'm hoping to keep this routine up, but it's exhausting. Getting out in the morning ensures a good nap for both of them, and getting out in the afternoon hopefully leads to a smoother bedtime. Due to our lack of living space, we put the kids to bed in our bed so that we can continue to enjoy our evening without disturbing them. One of us goes in with them and lies down just so bedtime doesn't become playtime. The other night, just before we moved them to their own respectable beds, Boston on the floor; Taylor on the pull out sofa; I stumbled upon this scene and I was touched.....
We are going through this experience as a family, and we are growing closer because of it. Sure, there are times when I want to escape, or I'm frustrated with the lack of closet space or towel racks in the bathrooms, or the tiny fridge and sink, but we are doing surprisingly well. We are making it work and that's what counts. There are memories we are making, such as Taylor escaping our room early in the morning or another one such as this.....
We had just come back from swimming and playing with cousins Alex and Jake and the kids wanted some leftover pizza Curtis had brought back from his meeting. We got them settled with pizza and a movie and went about finding something suitable to watch on the other TV. I came out a few minutes later to find Taylor under the TV dipping her pizza in something. I immediately knew what it was, and knew she was attempting to be sneaky about it. We had some small leftover butter pouches from our morning waffles that Taylor originally thought was something yummy. Ya, she'd gone and opened one and proceeded to dip her pizza in butter. I was about to stop her, but all I could honestly do was laugh. She obviously found it good enough to continue dipping because that little cup was licked clean!! This girl is something else, but boy will we have stories to tell about her! We are indeed making memories that will last a lifetime.P.S. They officially started our home on Tuesday. We have a footing and all the plumbing is dug...tomorrow comes the slab and then its on to framing!! Pictures to come soon:)

This might sound weird, but I am slightly jealous of this hotel experience you are having - what memories for sure! Ha ha...I know, I know, I am crazy. Can't wait to see how the house comes along! Good luck!
You are amazing! I don't know how you do it. I feel slightly guilty for getting you guys into this mess, but I can't wait until it is all done and we are in our new homes!!
Wow living out of a hotel? You guys are brave! How do you do meals each day? You can't cook anything. This whole building a home thing is stressfull but I hear in the end it is worth it. I know we are excited for ours. I am glad everything worked out with your lot and house plan and all that. I know I haven't blogged in forever. This whole building a home thing has been quite consuming. I don't really have time for much else. I am also getting things ready for my preschool. I really need to update people. Hopefully there is time for that before we get moved. It's really not that nothing is going on. Life is crazy. I am glad one of us is good at blogging so we can know what is going on.
