Easter 2009
We had a great Easter this year. My parents decided to come for the weekend and celebrate with us. Both Taylor and Boston were excited to have Grandma and Grandpa here for a couple days to play. I enjoyed getting out on Saturday to do some shopping with my mom without the kids! After being couped up for almost 2 weeks with sick kids, it felt really good to get away for a couple hours. We dyed eggs on Saturday night and came to the conclusion that Boston is far too young to participate. He thought they were balls and was throwing them in the cups of color as fast as he could!! Taylor was a little discouraged with her brother, but we managed to salvage a few just for her and she ended up really enjoying it. Sunday was a nice relaxing day. The Easter bunny brought the kids each a new movie...madagascar for Taylor, and Bob the builder for Boston and new matchbox cars for the little man and a new Tinkerbell doll for Taylor. It was wonderful to sit through 2 hours of church uninterrupted by children....thats right, Boston is officially in nursery! He was a little nervous at first, but as soon as they pulled the blocks out he was hooked:) I am so glad he took to it so easy since we had a hard time transitioning Taylor. He was all smiles when we picked him and was too busy playing with bubbles to notice! It is nice to not have to dread going to church and wonder how much of my time will be spent in the hall or driving around town to get him to sleep! The kids got new Easter outfits of course, and Taylor was so excited to wear her beautiful dress. We attempted to get a couple family photos before church, which is always a challenged with 2 kids who are too busy looking every which way besides at the camera. We managed to get a few in thanks to Grandma. I liked this one the best even though my mom cut off the top of Curtis' head! After church and dinner, we took advantage of the warm weather and went to show Grandma and Grandpa the fun we have hiking around on the red rocks. It got a little windy but the kids love being out and roaming around in the rocks and dirt. We had a wonderful Easter weekend and were sad to see our visitors go. Thanks mom and dad for a great time:)

Your little family portrait is so cute! I wish my kid would sit still for one of those kinds of snapshots.
