Valentine's Day

I have never been one to be big on Valentine's Day, but this year turned out to be really nice for us. Growing up, my dad would always get us a card and our favorite king size candy bar. It seemed just enough for me and then once I was the only one left at home, he would get me flowers along with my mom. I think Curtis and I have argued more about this holiday than any other...he thinks its pointless, and I think its all about the thought! We decided to not do anything this year, but I still went out and got him a card and his favorite candy bar-take 5. We had cinnamon rolls for breakfast and Curtis had a tea party with Taylor.
We ate at one of our favorite local burger joints for lunch and then Curtis took Taylor on a long hike behind our house while Boston had a nap. She absolutely loves when Curtis doesn't have to work and was so excited to have gone hiking with him all by herself! My old college roomate came down with her husband for the night to get away before their first baby comes next month! They were nice enough to share their V-day with us and our kids by going out to dinner! It was a lot of fun seeing them and reminising of old times. I miss having such close friends around! I didn't take any pictures, of course, but thanks Les and Jared for the fun:) We got the kiddies in bed and decided to watch a movie, and Curt surprised me with some chocolate covered strawberries and sparkling cider! They offered it in a package at the hotel and he made some extra for us....one of the many perks of your husband running a hotel!
We got a chance to finally attend our new ward and are excited to know we will be permanent there for at least a year. Everyone seemed nice and I got a chance to talk with a couple of people and there's even another Boston in the ward that is just a few months younger than ours. Taylor was so excited to be back at Primary that she didn't hesitate at all going in a sitting by herself.

I miss you guys! I am glad that you had a great day! I loved getting a card from Dad on Valentine's day with a huge candy bar. But flowers! I guess that is a perk to being the youngest girl. I love you!
