Pictures of Boston's Bday
We had a really nice day yesterday for Boston's birthday. I still can't believe that he is already one. We spent the day together just as a family doing some of our favorite things....hitting the park, having lunch, and it wouldn't have been complete as a Saturday without a trip to Costco. The park was packed with people, obviously a lot of birthdays happened yesterday and there was food and music all over the place. Not to mention it was still 100 degrees outside. I had a hard time getting Boston to smile for the camera because he was too busy people watching, most of the ones I got are of the side of his face!
Presents are always interesting when you have a 3 year old and a one year old. We explained a million times that it was Boston's birthday and that they were his toys, but she still preceded to try to take them away. Luckily, he didn't mind too much and just moved onto a toy she wasn't playing with. Curtis insisted that he have a dump truck and found a perfect one at Costco, even though it said for ages 3 and up! Boston has figured out the buttons and it felt like Christmas morning.....with 3 gifts!! One of his gifts was this drop and roar dino that Fisher price doesnt make anymore and I was determined that he have one since he loves balls. I finally won the bid on ebay after months of trying (I wasn't willing to spend $60 or $70 like most people so it took me awhile to find one I was willing to pay for!) He loves it, and gets a kick out of watch the balls roll out the dinosaur's mouth and tail! I knew it would be a hit:)
For his cake, we opted for an ice cream cake from DQ!! Boston is a little weird about texture and I was almost positive he wouldn't have anything to do with a regular cake. And he loves ice cream, as does his sister and dad so I knew I would have to deal with it not getting eaten. I think he's probably the only 1 year old who ate his cake with a spoon....he didn't like the squishy cold feeling the cake provided I guess! He didn't even get too messy, probably because he was distracted by his sister playing with all the balloons.
We had a wonderful day and now we only have 9 days to get ready for Taylor's birthday!

Happy Birthday to Boston! I can't believe he's one either. He is so hansome!
The pics you took are great!
Marissa you did an awesome job making sure he had a birthday you guys will always remember. I did a ice cream cake from Cold Stone for McKell because I liked the idea as well knowing that a cake wouldn't get eaten.
Wow, MY little guy is 1!! He is adorable and has a ton of hair! Good choice on the cake by the way. The sports pattern is awesome.
I can't believe Boston is already a year old! Wyatt has that dino with balls and loves it!
Those look like some pretty fun toys! Caleb would love the truck. Boston is such a handsome little man!
Hey! How are you? We totally need to get together. I think our kids would have so much fun. Have you guys been to the Washington Community Center yet? That is our favorite place! Anyway... me and a friend are trying to get a bunko group together and I totally thought of you when we were putting together our list of girls. We would love to have you come play with us if you're not already in a group! Comment me back and let me know and then I'll get you all the details. We're just barely getting this started but I think it'll be so fun!! Hope to hear from you soon. Love, Jo
