My Lucky Day

Yesterday, while the kids were napping and my husband was occupied watching the BYU game, I decided to make the most of my time and go shopping! It's not often I can get out of the house by myself without having to rush home and I had a coupon to use at Old Navy. The coupon was for 40% off 1 item so I went to find myself something. After trying on a bizillion things, I settled on 2 shirts and then made my way over to the kids section...big mistake! They were having a big 40% off sale on almost everything. The kids both need fall clothes and have almost nothing so I realized I needed to take advantage of the sale. I did pretty good finding a lot for Taylor, but the boys section never really excites me. I found a hoodie for both of them, a each got a pair of pants, and Boston got 2 shirts while Taylor got 3. I was having loads of fun and knew it would probably end once I got to the register and realized how much I had spent. But I knew the kids needed it and it was on sale....all very justifiable! So, I went to pay and after everything was in I was still under a $100 and then she ran my coupon through and I paid, but figured something went wrong since my total ended up being $57.....hmmm. I stood outside the store and looked at my receipt and realized she'd taken an additional 40% off my ENTIRE purchase....making my total discount more than I even spent! I realized it wasn't just a few dollars, but a significant amoount and turned around and went back inside. The girl that helped me was busy so I went to someone else and explained the situation. She walkie-talkied her manager and said she'd have to post void it and start all over.....I didn't mind. Then she told her manager I had already paid but came back in when I noticed it was wrong. She looked back and me, handed me my receipt and said, "You can go!" I said "are you sure" and she nodded and said thank you for being honest!!!!YAHOO! I made it home with 12 items and only spent 57 bucks!! In my head I thought....I should have shoved more in my cart for myself!! I guess it really does pay to be honest!

I am so jealous everytime I have to think about you being in St. George with all the GREAT shopping places! Shop for me would ya. Glad to hear that being honest paid off! And how sweet is Curtis for bringing you flowers "just because". What a man, and do tell him how cool we think his new mt. bike is. Have you found a pediatrician yet? Drop us a line when you get a chance.

What luck! I like to go shopping when the games on becuase you can call and get permission for just about anything because they are distracted by the game and just want to get off the phone asap.

As Napoleon Dynamite would say, Lucky! I really miss the shopping in St. George. Everything is mostly in one spot. I know everyone has already asked, but where did you get your coupon?

Wow, Yay for you! I am jealous. It's awesome when stuff like that happens. Especially when you are honest about it and they are still like, "Thanks, but you can still have the great deal!"

I'm not sure when I can head down. I will let you know ASAP! When does Curtis work?

I used my coupon and then went back...twice (to different Old Navy's)! It was a killer sale. I totally feel you on not having any fall clothes. Cole is growing WAY too fast!
