I know for most people, Mondays tend to be the worst day of the week, but for some reason I had a good one this week. Nothing to exciting happened, but things went well so I chalk it up as a good day. I wasn't able to go to my morning spin class that I was looking forward to all weekend because the kids had gotten sick and Taylor was still running a little bit of a fever when she woke up. I decided to play it safe and give her another day to rest. I guess I should get used to more sickness now that they are exposed to more germs and kids everyday at the gym....just comes with the territory. So, I decided to hit the 5:30 class and make sure dinner was ready for Curt when he got home so I could just go once he got there. I put a roast in the crockpot and let it cook all day. The kids laid low and Taylor took a 3 hour nap after lunch...now thats a good day!:) I finished up some mashed potatoes and carrots for dinner and then it was on the the gym!! A great workout and tons of sweat later, I arrived home energized and feeling good about myself! The kids were playing, the dishes were done and dinner cleaned up!!! The day couldn't get better! Once I got home, Curtis hurried out to hit some trails on his mountain bike! Boston went to bed without a fuss and Taylor was happily playing with playdo and coloring and I settled in to watch The Hills and wait for Curt so we could watch One Tree Hill(my tv obsession!) Curt came in and next thing I know Taylor is running over saying "daddy bought you flowers mom, See?" I turned and sure enough, Curtis was holding a bouquet of flowers....just because!! Now, if you know Curtis, he's not one to buy flowers since they just die in a couple days, even though I'm always telling him its the thought that counts. Looks like after over 4 years, he finally caught on:) I will say I got teary eyed during the Hills..I know, I know, I dont know why I watch the show, but I do. The whole friendship talk at the end did me in...I'm a little emotional about the need for friends at this point so you have to understand where I'm coming from. Here's a pic of the flowers (from Costco of course!)...
Taylor wanted to make sure Dad got in the picture with the flowers and even showed him how to smile for this one...

I understand where you are coming from on the flower issue. BJ's mom actually taught her boys not to buy flowers because they just die. I have gotten a few roses this week however. BJ cut them from the bushes on the side of my house.
Give that Curt a high five for me!!! Give life a chance on the friend thing. Both of my closest onces have come after some time. Both Taylor and Curt have such CHEEZY grins!!!! Love Mom
My e-mail address is weird some times, this is the only one I have you can try it either kristin.borget@imail.org or kristin.borget@intermountainmail.org
What a man that Curtis is! I'm glad your enjoying spinning, I'm not sure I would keep going to that crazy lady's class after the first 70 min!
Wow! What a good day! Three hour nap, husbands cleans up, AND you got flowers! YAY for YOU!
By the way, speaking of friends...maybe I could come down for a visit in the next week or two. What do you think? I'm dying to catch up with you! We could do lunch or just pick up sandwiches and take our kids to the park. Let me know!
It's the small things that count, huh? I love my simple little life here. Even though there aren't a lot of exciting things, you gotta love it!
